Stockbroking Survey 2009
The Finance Dublin 2009 Stockbroking Survey of institutional investors has seen Bloxham win in all categories.
It was a great result for Bloxham in both bonds and equities and reflects the huge effort which was put in during an extremely tough year. Bloxham achieved a joint second position with Goodbody’s in the overall firm ranking, collecting 11 total wins, in what Finance Dublin called a “tremendous performance”.

Daft.ie Research on the Irish Property Market
In brief:
- Asking prices for 09 fell by 19% and are down 30% from peak in 07.
- National average house price now stands at €242,000 a fall of €107,000 from the peak.
- In Dublin, asking prices have dropped by up to 42% – while in Cork, Galway and Waterford, asking prices fell by approximately 30%. In Limerick, drops were on average 25%, while elsewhere in the country, prices are now on average 30% below their peak in early 2007.
- Average time to sell a house now 9 months and just 4 months in Dublin.
- Stock in Dublin has fallen 20% in 09, however across the majority of the rest of the country it is still rising.
